Nominator's project description
| Professor Marie-Louise B. Nosch is an international authority in the Bronze Age Aegean Linear B script and a leading expert in textile research. She has presented pioneering works on the textile industry in the Mycenaean period. In addition to her research professorship at the University of Copenhagen, she is also Director of the associated Danish National Research Foundation's Centre for Textile Research, which has developed into a leading international institution in this field since its establishment in 2005. At the centre, she conducts experimental and pluri-disciplinary research on ancient spinning and weaving techniques in collaboration with her team. Her innovative approach to research combines methods from the fields of science and humanities, crafts and conservation studies. Professor Marie-Louise B. Nosch is hosted by Professor Dr. Beate Wagner-Hasel, Leibniz University Hannover. |
